Stack Talk – Vol.4 Issue 9

The Smoke Stack Hobby Shop is moving to a new home!!!

It’s almost here!!  342 Lincoln Ave. Our Grand Opening will be Saturday, October 29th. There is still a lot to accomplish between now and then (Exterior signs, interior trim, assembling shelving, with the fair thrown in for good measure). And everything may not be nice and neat on day 1, but hang in there with us and we are sure we will have everything spic and span by the holiday’s. Be sure to visit the photo gallery for all the latest pics.

The Hocking Valley Model Railroad Club continues construction of an HO scale layout in the shop. The layout is nearing completion and is in the final stages of scenery. The road is in place and most of the buildings are on the layout. Lights are being added to some buildings and some small details are being put in place. The layout will be ready for unveiling and its inaugural run on our grand opening weekend at the new shop location. Check out the photo galleryfor all the photos showing the layout in progress.

With our move to a larger building, we have reserved space for classes and seminars. We are calling this space our Hangar area and plan to give it an aeronautical theme that should remind you of an old military airfield. The Hangar area will be large enough that we can conduct classes and seminars on a variety of topics. Some examples are How To Airbrush, Building Your First Layout, Weathering Techniques, and Tuning Your R/C Car. While these are only examples, it gives you an idea of some of the topics we are planning.

Shortly after move in, we are planning our first event to be a model show. Keep watching this newsletter and our web site for additional details. We are looking forward to a very busy and entertaining Fall and Winter season.
